Virtual machines for Intel mac
Much sooner than expected, Parallels have released a beta Intel Mac OS X version of their virtual machine software.
Luckily, this means there’s no need to wait for Microsoft to make an Intel-compatible version of their Virtual PC application.
I gave Parallels Workstation a go, and it seems to work very nicely, at almost-native speeds. I experienced crashes when attempting to resume a suspended virtual machine, and my entire machine crashed when booting into Windows XP, but hopefully these issues will be resolved in the final release.
It would be nice to see some features like snapshotting, and perhaps the ability to create multiple separate virtual networks (as in VMWare Workstation), but otherwise it looks good:

We can also only hope Parallels also fix their god-awful interface. It’s as if they’ve decided to extend the virtualisation of Windows into their own UI design.
